I took advantage of the long weekend to take a day off and go visit close friends in Toronto. Before I met up with them, however, I took advantage of an opportunity to go check out the Christian Louboutin exhibition recently arrived from the UK. I have been looking forward to this since I found out about it last year and some of you may remember my writing about it earlier. It did not disappoint. Besides the beauty of the shoes, the exhibition itself was gorgeous and so imaginatively put together. It reminded me a bit of the movie Moulin Rouge and every section complemented the theme of the shoes in that area. All of the shoes are displayed on glass to give the full effect of the red sole. There was also a hologram of Dita Von Teese doing a stunning burlesque routine where her curves turn into a shoe. My favourite part however is that none of the shoes were behind glass – so you could get very close and really admire and examine the artistry. They also allowed pictures so I have tons. Here are my favourites (I know there are a lot but there was too much beauty to choose from!).
I really loved the fishnet effect on some of the heels:
I was happy to see these – the close-toed version has been a staple on my Pinterest and personal vision boards:
The ones right above and these next ones (which are very Gatsby) fed my Art Deco passion:
These ones were very Carrie Bradshaw:
These were my ultimate favourite (they WILL be mine one day- they have to be, they come straight from my dreams):
Wishing you the best of everything,
